Edited to add: Even though we’re having some tough weather in Cincinnati, the event is still ON. See you tonight at 7pm at Joseph-Beth!
Oh the Easy Bake Oven. Kitchen tool of the under 12 set, hallmark of my ’80’s youth.
But, this light-bulb oven has actually been around for 50 years. Yes, tiny cookies made with water, and baked in a square box have been around since the Eisenhower administration.
So what does this have to do with being a grown-up
30-something in Cincinnati?
Well….Author Todd Coopee has written a retrospective of this gadget; and my beloved Joseph-beth Booksellers here in Cincinnati will be hosting a signing and reading.
But wait, there’s more!
During the signing, myself and some other local bloggers will be competing in an Easy-Bake Oven…BAKE OFF. That’s right, I’ll bring my best tiny recipe to be baked on-site in an Easy Bake Oven and be judged by Mr. Coopee himself.
You don’t want to miss this.
Want to meet the author and have him sign your book?
Just want to see me in an apron baking in a tiny oven?
Either way, you should get down to Jo-Beth tomorrow night for the fun.
Spoiler alert: I have been practicing at home with my own Easy-Bake Oven.
Bring it on.
