Wednesday night, I attended a fundraiser for the Pan-Mass Challenge.
The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
A co-worker’s good friend, Meredith is fundraising to sponsor her ride.
I am riding in the PMC to honor the memory of my parents: Michael “The Senator” Chace who passed away March 20th, 2004 at the age of 51 after a short battle with lung cancer and my mother Frances Chace who passed away at the age of 48 on December 11, 2001
Looking for a way to encourage donations in a new way, Meredith and her boyfriend, Jeff hosted a speakeasy of sorts at their beautiful loft apartment. They assembled a cash bar in their living room and put out snacks on their coffee tables and went to town. All the proceeds from the drink purchases (tips included) go directly to Meredith’s fundraising efforts. Pretty cool, right?
When we arrived, we were handed individual drink menus.
“The Senator’s Club” is named for Meredith’s late father, whom folks called “The Senator.”
Quite a selection, if I do say so myself.
Meredith and Jeff set up a FULL bar
Hello Top Shelf!
I enjoyed two glasses of the Oyster Bay Saugivnon Blanc.
Hey, its for charity, right?
The crowd sipping for a good cause.
One of our hosts for the evening, Jeff:
And his button; which pretty much says it all.
Amen to that.
Many thanks to Meredith and Jeff for hosting such a fun and unique fundraiser!
